Ergonmic Patterns & Seamlines
The book of Rickard Lindqvist "Kinetic Garment Construction," introduced Spiral patternmaking to me. In Spring 2020, I played around with the draping instruction described in Rickard Lindqvist's book. It was inspiring that the sleeve is part of the back bodice and then twists around to be attached. In the beginning, the volume of the sleeve cap was entirely off. The sleeve's volume was in front, and it hung down in the vice-versa way. Then, I started to perfect the pattern and explore it in new ways. Only once my professor asked how much I could push it further I came to a design that I liked. You can see the pattern to the right. From there, I started to develop it into several Jumpsuits, pants, coats, and dresses.
